ArcheAge officially launches with new trailer

archeage

After a very short headstart for founders filled with DDoS attacks, server instability and long queues, ArcheAge is officially out there, with two extra servers to help players into the game without having to wait for quite some time.

To go with the launch of this ambitious but troublesome sandbox MMORPG, Trion Worlds released a launch trailer filled with cool stuff. There’s sailing, cool swords, impossible flying machines, invisibility, different races posing for the camera, donkeys, scarecrows, gliding, quite a bit of fighting and the Kraken. It’s all very exciting, but in reality you’ll mostly be carrying stuff around and getting killed by enemies. And alleged friends.

Let us know what is your experience in ArcheAge so far.

Its not about founders losing their privilege to play at headstart even tho they paid for it, neither all the dozen #Errors Glyph causes, or Hack’s, Bots, bots everywhere matter.
Its simply, and i think being patient for 3-4 weeks is normal, that after my patience Trion/XL still havent responded to the IP Block issue we, random players have gotten from them.
I have only casualy played Rift, and wanted to try Archeage, but i found out like many of us that our IP adresses are denied of : Glyph client, Forums, Archeage, any and all ways of posting about the problem is being carefully blocked and ignored, that doesnt seem like Trion at all.
Did they do it to reduce the influx of players servers already cant take,
or maybe as a random measure to recent DDoS attack or what?
    Why so rude?
I mean i wanted to give this game a chance, and am being optimistic, but they keep ignoring IP Block matter ,most people cant even post about on forums.
Is this the future of gaming, most anticipated titles being released prematurely?
Theyr making it easy for their competition.
If i dont hear from them, there are plenty of games soon that will change the way of MMORpg for the better and that we will be able to enjoy.

The rough launch is still very fresh and I bet they’re dealing with a lot of technical problems as we speak. Not sure if the IP Block was to reduce the playerbase and if so, that’s not really nice to see.

As for the future of gaming, it’s a (sad) trend: I’m not fond of the idea of paying quite some cash to get early access to a game (to play an unfinished, buggy game that may turn out as crap anyway), as well as the trend of founder’s packs that get prices way over $100.

Definitely support the games you’re SURE will be good, with serious developers that care about the community, but avoid some early access games like the plague. Previously we had free demos to make our minds about the games; now we have to pay to play buggy messes (with the due exceptions)?

      Just my 2 cents.

Objectivelly Trion products tend to be good, in a month or so this may very well be the best MMORPG out there (at least prior to Black Desert).
Subjectively..damn it man ,why did it had to be me to play weeks or months after release, i so wish to be those people in 1k queue waiting, but still not in vain.

True. In a few months ArcheAge the dust has settled, the big bugs crushed and playerbase is finally “real”. Potential is there, but as it was the case with the Korean version, the launch was a bit of a mess.

There has not been few months yet, and i doubted they will manage to stabilize the game, but they did fight bots/spam and queue and it worked.
Anyone saying this game is bad now, is pulling you away from it becouse servers are overcrowded :)
Im starting to doubt myself quitting Archeage for Black Desert now.

Well, great news there, means that they’re actually improving the game and fixing the problems at a nice pace. I thought it would take them a few more months to do so (end of the year) but that’s uplifting! And if the servers are overcrowded, it also means the game is getting a lot of appreciation, and I think it deserves it! :)
