Battleforge retires its cards, shutting down in October

When Electronic Arts decided to shut down the EA Phenomic studio, it was like a bad omen for some games. Now it's confirmed with the shutdown of Battleforge, a realtime strategy game that adds cards to the mix. The lack of updates to the official website was also a sign that things weren't going very well.

Battleforge is closing on October 31, 2013 and players are encouraged to spend any in-game currency they may still own before the closing date. No compensation packages were announced.

EA Phenomic also developed other free-to-play games such as Lord of Ultima and Command and Conquer: Tiberium Alliance.
