Black Desert Korea and Russia are now with IP block

black desert 32 valkyrie

Probably in the wake of the buy-to-play announcement of Black Desert Online NA and EU, Daum is now beginning to IP block the Korean version of this MMORPG. The idea seems to be blocking players from regions that are already running their own version of Black Desert or may be in the near future, such as North America, Europe, Japan and Russia. In fact, Russia is also blocking foreign IPs now, something that wasn’t planned just a while ago.

This move makes sense as a purely business oriented decision, as Black Desert Online needs to be profitable in every region to keep the servers running. Will this make you wait for the B2P western version or will you still try to keep playing in other regions?

This will take a couple of years at least, and that’s if the game actually does really badly. So I guess you have to play other games until then, but on the other hand there won’t be a shortage of F2P :)

It has got to be cheap for me to consider buying it.. like under $20.. it’s pretty, but it’s not as great as people claim. Don’t get me wrong, it is still one of the best F2P mmorpg I have played, great polish and systems. The combat is also very nice. I just found it to be so-so after a couple of weeks.. maybe due to a very poor English patch translation. I think that the story may carry it along a bit better.

There are few very big f2p games coming so … too bad black desert was one of them :) it seems no longer. Not gonna pay for a thing that i might not like after few days of playing. And probably the price will be insanely retarded 40+ eu

I can pretty much guarantee that if it doesnt change enough by then, B2P would be a bad move for Black Desert. Ive played the Korean server, and while it has potential, its failed to grasp it on so many levels.

But is the BTP going to be a subscription or a 1-time payment? If it’s a 1-time payment I wouldn’t mind playing it.

I believe b2p is just one payment

It’s one time payment, but if they decide to release expansion packs you probably have to buy them too.

I personally use Private Internet Access VPN. 6 bucks a month. It works damn good too. Played 2 versions of BNS, Monster Hunter Online and Black Desert. All had decent latency too. Around 160ms.

If you have avast they offer a VPN too.

(Yea, yea you said free buck 6 bucks for VPN from a reputable company is definitely safer)
