Bloodline Champions developer reveals arena brawler Battlerite

A few days ago Stunlock Studios was running a countdown to some kind of mysterious reveal. What could the developers of the cherished Bloodline Champions and appreciated but sadly canceled Dead Island: Epidemic have in the works? Today that game was revealed – it is called Battlerite and is developed in a partnership with Coffee Stain Studios, makers of Goat Simulator.

Battlerite is pretty much a spiritual sequel to Bloodline Champions, being described as a “team arena brawler focused on adrenaline-fueled player vs player combat”. The plan is to have short and intense matches without random elements so that this feels like a true action game, with a “gladiatorial fighting” feel. There will be several champions, each with its own set of combo-friendly attacks – some names already revealed are Shifu, Croak, Freya and Ashka.

Battlerite still has no release date, but you can sign up for the beta at the official website.
