Call of Duty Online scored a big hit by nabbing Hollywood star Chris Evans, most famous for the Captain America role, to star in a live action trailer for the China-exclusive shooter. After a short teaser and a behind-the-scenes video, here is the final trailer, filled with action, explosions, zombies, and a big ass monster that looks like it came out of the Gears of War franchise. All in all, the trailer is short, pleasant and in a way, reflects the Call of Duty spirit – you know, the “I’m better than you, so suck it” kind of community.
Along with the full Call of Duty Online live action trailer, a lengthy gameplay video was released. Zombie Robots are the enemy (you possibly remember them from this announcement) and players have to cooperate to save some folks from all the big guns and explosions.
Call of Duty Online is in development at Raven Software, the North American studio, and while it’s a China exclusive game for now, there’s hope that eventually it will launch in the West. Chinese studios are doing a great job at snagging worldwide famous franchises from us; Tencent has Call of Duty Online and Monster Hunter Online, while Shanda Games recently announced Borderlands Online.
