Crytek with financial issues, Arena of Fate in trouble?

Arena of Fate's developer Crytek Black Sea could be in serious financial trouble, being unable to pay its employees for three and a half months, according to what anonymous sources told Let’s Play Video Games.

The Bulgarian studio could be suffering from delays on payments owed to Crytek (probably licensing fees for the CryEngine), but in the end this means that Crytek Black Sea is up for sale and currently in discussions with a “big name company” to be purchased. The financial issues aren't just affecting Crytek Black Sea, but all of Crytek, with another alleged Crytek employee working on the German offices claiming on Reddit that they have not been paid for the last six months: “This isn’t just here in Germany, this is in all of our offices as far as I can tell.”

Crytek Black Sea is working on the free-to-play MOBA Arena of Fate, which was announced in 2014 and is the studio's first game since it was acquired by Crytek in 2008, when it was known as Black Sea Studios.
