F2P Call of Duty Online confirmed, great news if you’re Chinese

Activision partnered with Tencent to release Call of Duty Online, an episode from the blockbuster series that is in development for over two years and is focused only on the multiplayer side of things. Great news for Call of Duty fans, but not all of them – the game will only be released in China.

First announced in February 2011, Activision was completely quiet since then on Call of Duty Online. Now, the first trailer (in a disappointing low resolution) was revealed, along with some details that are, however, common knowledge among free-to-play games.

The setting for the game is the Modern Warfare universe and that’s the juiciest info for now. As for the rest, expect microtransactions for in-game items such as weapons, gear, perks and more.
