Heroes of Newerth’s 107 heroes are completely free

S2 Games announced all Heroes of Newerth heroes will be unlocked and free to use once patch 2.6.11 is live on July 20th, 2012. This means that all 107 heroes are just waiting for you to choose and enter the battlefields in this free-to-play MOBA game. Actually, S2 Games now call it free to own, which is OK by us.

While this is a move that deserves several rounds of applause, we’re sure that many loyal players will be enraged, accusing S2 Games of offering other players something that actually cost them a lot of money. Free-to-play games are often known for tipping the difficulty scale in favor of those with the largest pockets, so any kind of gameplay balancing such as this is great news in our book.
