New EA MOBA Dawngate revealed, site is live

Electronic Arts just launched the official site for Dawngate, a MOBA game developed by the new studio Waystone Games. The site isn’t completely functional yet – the forum and the about links aren’t working, for example – and it’s fairly empty yet.

Supperannuation dug a bit and tweeted the following:  “Would assume that is the same MOBA game Visceral’s F2P group was developing, and they were renamed to Waystone Games”. So Dawngate could be a free-to-play MOBA, another one for Electronic Arts after the failed experiment of Warhammer: Wrath of Heroes.

The description on the official site is… well, to be honest, it’s completely generic PR blurb that reveals nothing of the game. What do you make of this?

“Dawngate is a new MOBA, built from the ground up to look and feel familiar while offering a whole new way to experience MOBA gameplay. Dawngate empowers you to forge the champions you love for the roles you want in a competitive arena, shaped by ever-evolving, community-driven content and story.”

You can sign up on the official website (look, there’s Psylocke in the picture!) for a chance to participate in the closed beta, but you need an Origin account to do so.
