Nexon announces free-to-play Ghost in the Shell FPS

Nexon finally confirmed all rumors by officially announcing a free-to-play game based on the popular manga Ghost in the Shell.

The game will be a first-person shooter and is tentatively titled Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX (with capital letters and all). Developing duties are on Neople, the studio that developed the hugely successful free-to-play brawler Dungeon Fighter Online and the game is scheduled for the first half of 2014.

The official blurb says that the game is a “first-person shooter featuring fierce hacking battles between cyborgs fighting over strategic resources.” It will incorporate “cyberization” as well as “diverse content such as cooperative battle mode, a new concept that integrates AI with the player.”
