Otherland is now in open beta, free-to-play launch on September 8

Years and years of waiting and a revival in-between are finally coming to an end for Otherland. Drago Entertainment has just announced that this sci-fi MMORPG inspired by the work of Tad Williams just entered open beta today and will officially launch as free-to-play on September 8, 2016. The Otherland business model was uncertain for some time but the studio has finally settled on free-to-play, so everyone will be able to join in and explore the virtual worlds of this game.

While it had some issues during early access, hopefully Otherland now offers an improved experience, especially concerning combat, as the press release says: “an improved enemy AI will provide an even more action-driven gaming experience that will be further sustained by more fluid motion patterns and revised skill sets.”
