It took quite a while and some missed dates, but the PlanetSide 2 beta is finally ongoing. The beta began this morning and it will gradually welcome all kinds of players, from PlanetSide veterans to people who signed up for the beta at the official PlanetSide 2 website. To accommodate all selected players it will take from 2 to 4 weeks, which we’re sure sounds like an eternity to most of you.
Sony Online Entertainment’s president John Smedley also said on Twitter that PlanetSide 2 will be on Steam.
PlanetSide 2 is one of the biggest free-to-play online shooters ever and one of the most anticipated releases of the year, F2P or not.
