Project Spark will become entirely free beginning October 5

Team Dakota and Microsoft have just announced that the sandbox game, or maybe we should say, game creation tool Project Spark will become entirely free beginning October 5, 2015. This game… err… creation suite will have all its microtransactions unlocked for new and existing Project Spark users.

If you don't know what Project Spark is, think of it as Square Enix's failed Gameglobe experience, or maybe even a bit as LittleBigPlanet, in the sense that you can build your own games. However, you were initially limited to some assets and had to fork out real cash for new and interesting downloadable content, something that will become free. On the other hand, while Microsoft is encouraging PC and Xbox One players to let their creative juices flow, the studio won't continue developing new content to the game – what you see is what you get.

You can watch the trailer below to get an idea on what kind of content players are able to create.
