That’s not my name; Battleships is now World of Warships

Wargaming just announced a name change for World of Battleships, the third game in the “World of” series. The game is now known as World of Warships. The change was made to better reflect the Wargaming universe and framework, according to the official press release.

While the game has changed its title, the gameplay hasn't. World of Warships will still focus on straightforward naval action gameplay, including accessible controls, historically accurate vessels and combat, as well as a deep and engaging upgrade and customization system.

World of Warships will also be included in the Wargaming.net common economic system that will allow players to distribute resources between the three titles, World of Tanks and World of Warplanes being the two predecessors.

World of Warships is scheduled to set sail in 2013.
