WildStar in trouble? Carbine lays off 60 employees

Wildstar shuts down

Not all is well on the fictional planet Nexus, where the action of the subscription-based MMORPG WildStar takes place. NCsoft had to let go of many employees and the team at Carbine Studios, developers of WildStar, is the most affected of all the Western operations. Community Manager Tony Rey said that they will continue to support WildStar the best that they can: “Today NC West announced staff reductions across its Western operations. While this impacted several colleagues, the teams here at Carbine are committed to supporting WildStar to ensure you get the experiences you want well into the future. We wish all of our friends well and hopefully our paths will cross again in the future.” According to Polygon, an unmamed source claims that 60 Carbine Studios employees were let go.

Carbine was founded in 2005 and WildStar is its first game. After the initial spike, now it's the time where we'll see how the game will manage to keep paying players coming back for more – the future somehow doesn't look bright, but we hope that no more layoffs are in store and wish all the best to those affected.
