Wargaming today announced that the update 8.3 for its free-to-play action MMO World of Tanks (you know, the game that has an incalculable number of registered players) is now available in Europe and Southeast Asia, while it will be live tomorrow in North America. Korean players should get it in January 21.
This update adds the Chinese nation, complete with 17 tanks used by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army in the mid-20th century warfare.
The lower tiers of the new tech tree feature a hotchpot of various foreign designs, including the first Japanese-made tank in the game – the Type 97 Chi-Ha. Heavy Soviet influences are reflected in the top-tier tanks, which also include a number of original Chinese models, some of which never went into mass production.
