CroNix Online First Look Gameplay Video

CroNix Online (Play Free Here) is a free-to-play arena action online game akin to ArcheBlade and featuring mechanics somewhat comparable to some MOBA games. In CroNix Online you’ll get to pick a character from a varied roster and enter arena battles where every team member plays an important role in the outcome. Support characters are vital to the team’s performance, while ranged characters will hit the enemies from afar. This is an interesting game for fans of arena brawlers and the diverse cast of characters is definitely one of its highlights.

Wow. This came out of nowhere!

Had ZERO expectations when clicking on the video. Expected, maybe, a game with cool art, but a MOBA. That’s usually what “Arena”-anything games refer to nowadays, yeah?

Hearing instead the comparison to Archeblade in the first 20s DEFINITELY got my attention though! 😀

I love Archeblade, but the lack of updates (I mean, the studio did go under… I think. It’s understandable) and the lack of a single player is a bummer. I was hoping that Rise of Incarnates, maybe, would be able to replace it for me?

So any game like that is something I’m definitely interested in. And this – while not quite the same (it is very deliberately paced… though Archeblade did get chaotic real fast so being slower might not be a bad thing) – does seem to offer the arcadey arena brawler experience. It’s really promising looking actually :)

I feel like this genre is kind of prone to being under-the-radar (In addition to Archeblade, Panzar also is/was very quiet). I’m wondering if, maybe, they would be better suited to consoles? Arcadey games usually do better on, say, a Playstation… though I can only think of Anarchy Reigns there. And I have no idea how the community is on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Still thanks for the heads up FMMOS. Good video; I think I’m gonna give this a shot this weekend!

Definitely a completely under the radar game. I was surprised when I discovered it and it can be quite enjoyable, the mechanics seem right and there’s some weight to the characters. While I think the game won’t become popular and will go down the ArcheBlade/Panzar route, it deserves some attention.
