News:

Quake Champions opens its closed beta sign-ups
If you loved your time in Quake 3: Arena, then we have some news for you. The first one is, you’re probably getting old; the second one is that closed beta sign-ups are open for the new Quake Champions. Bethesda has revealed that the closed beta for Quake Champions should begin in the coming weeks, so go sign up right away if you want a piece of the action. This game is promising to be a faithful update to the Quake run and frag gameplay, and while the studio still hasn’t decided on the business model, free-to-play is a possibility that is being studied.

Epic Games’ Fortnite is going to “ship this year”
Do you remember a game called Fortnite, from Epic Games? It’s OK if you don’t, as it was announced in 2011 and since 2015 there was nothing but a deafening silence about it. Fortnite went through a couple of alphas, the last one in March 2015 and has pretty much disappeared from the radar since then. In the meantime, Epic Games has announced and soft-launched Paragon on PC and PS4. However, during GDC 2017 Epic Games’ Tim Sweeney has told that the game is set to ship “in the year ahead”, which was later confirmed to be 2017. We don’t know if they’re planning a beta or even a proper release, but we would love to see this third-person survival combat game finally available to all of us.

Crazy and fun multiplayer shooter Holodrive is now free to play
What would I get if I mixed Quake with Super Smash Bros? Well, Holodrive, of course! Don’t believe me? Then check out this video. Holodrive is a really cool 2D multiplayer shooter that just ended its Early Access phase and has now switched to free to play, as it was intended since the game landed on Steam nearly a year ago. In this game you and other players control a robot in a 2D arena with several crazy weapons and power-ups. This is definitely a great game that just needed more players to truly shine and hopefully it will happen from now on.

Revelation Online is now in open beta
By now you probably already made up your mind about Revelation Online, which is in open beta since March 6. So, do you like it or do you think it sucks? After the now mandatory head start for Founder’s Packs owners, Revelation Online has entered the open beta stage, so everyone is now able to download and play this fantasy MMORPG. You’ll still find a few bugs and text that needs proper translation, but kudos to the team for its work on optimizing the game, with an experience that is now way smoother than before. Let us know what you think of this game so far.

TERA’s new class name announced, it’s not Paragon
A few days ago, TERA was running a poll to name the next class, with players saying ‘boooh, that sucks!’ to the first name that was thrown around: Paragon. En Masse decided to give TERA players five options: Paragon, Moondancer, Sentinel, Valkyrie and Glaivedancer. What would the female-only class for the Castanic race be called? Well, with over 7,000 entries the chosen name was Valkyrie, followed by Moondancer. Anything is better than Paragon, right? This class probably won’t take long to arrive in TERA North America, we’re guessing a couple of weeks or so.

Elder Scrolls: Legends is now officially live on PC
If you need a regular fix of collectible card games, then you should look no further than Elder Scrolls: Legends, which has just officially launched. Elder Scrolls: Legends is now out there for PC players, with the Android and iOS versions still in the works. This card game stands out from the crowd thanks to its deep story mode and two-lane combat, not to mention the lore of the Elder Scrolls series. If you’re not yet tired of CCGs then give this one a shot.

‘Find the Game’ Quiz

If you know your sci-fi MMOs, you should be really close to finding out which game we’re going to talk about. This game launched recently and it’s based on the novels of a popular author. The first one to write the answer in the comments will see his name featured in the next Free to Play Unlimited episode.

Most Wanted: Moonlight Blade

With Revelation Online fresh in open beta, there’s no way that we can overlook other beautiful MMORPG: Moonlight Blade. Moonlight Blade comes from China just as Revelation Online, and both games share the fantasy martial arts spirit, with fast-paced combat, plenty of jumping around and soaring the skies with the help of an umbrella. Yes, an umbrella, you heard it right. With a game world said to be 18 times larger than the one in Skyrim and with 17 different types of landscapes, some of them looking like they came out of a beautiful painting, Moonlight Blade is mostly about acrobatic fighting and crazy combos but you can enjoy some more relaxing activities. Chinese ink painting, for example, or a flute duet, if you’re the musical type. Moonlight Blade is coming to North America and Europe but the reveal didn’t go any farther than that, so we’ll have to wait for more info.
