Nice! I’ve been wanting to see this, in action, for awhile!

I just really can’t understand why Capcom decided to only bring this to China. Not saying China doesn’t deserve it, but I mean, those handheld titles… it’s so niche outside of Japan. 4 mil sold or whatever in Japan on 3DS = <400k between NA and EU. That's crazy. They haven't put a MonHun game on a popular platform (in the West) since the PS2 days when the franchise launched. They’re almost certainly not really happy with the sales of the 3DS games here in the West – Capcom’s hurting for cash, and diminishing returns on Resident Evil & Street Fighter IV games are not cutting it anymore. Monster Hunter needs to be made an important franchise outside of Japan, yet they just refuse to bring out the version that could reach millions and millions – seriously, magnitudes – more gamers here in the West? That’s baffling… but then again, these are the kinds of decisions that got them where they are today. *sigh*

So yeah, Tencent’s game looks gorgeous. THIS is how Monster Hunter should look – powered by CryEngine 3! The lack of open world/instance stuff is a little disappointing, but still – GORGEOUS. Not looking like… well, a nice PS2 game, like on the 3DS. But now I can see how it plays, and it’s clear that this nails the gameplay too. If it doesn’t feel like newer entries, I don’t care – it looks like Toukiden Kiwami or Ragnarok Odyssey, which are faster & more fun imo anyway. This really looks awesome! I’d love for it to get out here in the West… but at the same time, I mean, we do have Toukiden Kiwami and Ragnarok Odyssey and other games. It’s only a matter of time before another MH competitor (God Eater Rage Burst, maybe? Bandai-Namco is bringing more & more of their stuff to consoles AND PC now) simply takes over the place that Capcom’s game should’ve gotten if they managed things better. Simply by playing to bigger audiences and getting them on consoles and/or PC.

This really looks good though. Hopefully it does well. Hopefully it leaves China someday 😉
