Genshin Impact Ganyu Ascension Guide

Ganyu is one of the upcoming characters coming to Genshin Impact, along with Xiao, and she is already catching the eye of many players. Her banner is expected to drop on January 12, so if you're going to pull for her, you should start farming the items that will ascend her and her weapon to reasonable levels. This Genshin Impact Ganyu ascension guide is going to show you what to focus on, so that you're all set when the gods of Teyvat grant you the wish of summoning her. It's not going to be easy, so you'd better get started.

Ganyu, the Cryo Archer who you may know as the Cocogoat if you're a regular Genshin Impact player, is grabbing a lot of attention. As you know by now, early ascensions are easy and smooth, but things get more complicated when the amount of materials increases and so does their rarity. So it's great to know exactly what you need to farm for Ganyu.

Luckily, there's a handy graphic doing the rounds on Reddit that pretty much tells you what you need – you can see it above. While this was based on closed beta info, it is very likely that it remains the same after Ganyu's release. Furthermore, you don't miss that much by farming the items anyway, because they will surely come in handy for other characters that you may own or are going to be released in the future.

As it happens with every single Genshin Impact character, this imposing task can be overcome with dedication and focus. Besides, you'll be fighting the Cryo Regisvine boss for Shiva Jade materials, not that pesky and frustrating Oceanid creature for hydro characters. Well, there's Childe as well, but I'll take him every day over Oceanid. Beating Childe is required to farm 18 Shadow of the Warrior items, which can be used for higher-level talents. Childe is waiting for you in the Golden House domain, as you probably know if you have fought him already – it's something that you need to do in the main story anyway, so start practicing.

Don't forget that for some ascension items you can use the crafting stations in Liyue Harbor and Mondstadt, and it gets even better if you have Sucrose, because using her may give you some bonus results.

One of the items that you'll need farming for Ganyu in large quantities is Qingxin flowers – 168 of them. Luckily, there are video guides such as this one that show you where to go to get the job done, with the recommended places being Huaguang Stone Forest and Jueyun Karst. Start by going to the Bubu pharmacy to purchase 10 flowers, and return in three days when the item goes back in stock to buy some more, in case you still need them.

Farming for talents will take you into the usual domain quests. You're going to need a significant amount of Diligence books, from Teachings to Guide and Philosophies. You can earn these by beating the Taishan Mansion domain in Jueyun Karst, but as you surely know, you just have to click on the Diligence book and teleport to the domain. The Taishan Mansion opens on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Whopperflower Nectar, Shimmering Nectar (level 40 or higher creatures), and Energy Nectar (level 60 or higher creatures) are items that drop from those annoying slimy flowers. Just as it happens with other creatures, you can track them down by using the tracking feature from your adventurer's handbook.

You may be asking yourself where to farm the Crown of Insight in Genshin Impact. There isn't a straightforward answer to this, because it only seems to drop from limited-time events. You need three Crown of Insight items, and if you recall events such as Chalk Prince and the Dragon and Unreconciled Stars, completing them rewarded you with one item each. You still have to wait for another event, in case you have two Crown of Insight items sitting in your inventory, waiting for Ganyu.

We hope that this Genshin Impact Ganyu Ascension guide helped you get started, and good luck pulling for Ganyu. She is surely going to be a good alternative to my Cryo favorite, Chongyun.
