Black Desert Online Japan welcomes the ocean update

Japanese Black Desert Online players have just received the ocean update, which we like to call the mysterious sea update for lack of a proper name. The update launched yesterday, November 24, and expands the game world by allowing you to set sail to distant places and populates the seas with marine life and terrifying creatures. Judging by the two trailers below, sunbathing is also an option, so enjoy your time on the beach with some of the new costumes now released.

In case you're not aware, we're talking about this because Black Desert Online is free-to-play in Japan, as well as in Russia and Korea, while it's buy-to-play in North America and Europe. However, the western price is now sitting at a tempting $4.99 / €4,99 until November 28, which means there's no reason for you not to try Black Desert. On the other hand, the price drop and frequent promotions could mean that Kakao Games is considering a move to free-to-play early 2017, but that's just a wild guess.
