Crimson Desert gameplay trailer revealed during The Game Awards 2020

Crimson Desert gameplay trailer

Pearl Abyss has revealed a new Crimson Desert gameplay trailer during The Game Awards 2020. This time, there are no edits or added effects, what you see is what you should get when the game releases in Winter 2021 on PC and console. That is, of course, if you own a computer capable of pushing the specs to the max. As for the console release, it's still shrouded in mystery, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it landing on PS5 and Xbox Series.

The next generation Pearl Abyss proprietary engine truly shines in the new Crimson Desert trailer. The makers of Black Desert Online are pushing the envelope on environmental and character detail, with stunning graphics and dynamic action combat. The studio's previous MMORPG already featured what is widely considered the best character creation system in the industry, but the  character customization in Crimson Desert is described as a tool that “raises the bar for the gaming industry.”

Crimson Desert is an open world action-adventure game that aims to cater to solo gameplay and online multiplayer fans as well. It is more story-driven than Black Desert, with a focus on character development. Players control Macduff, a warrior doomed by his past, as he leads a team of mercenaries to take back lands that were once theirs.

Pearl Abyss is going to have an eventful 2021. Besides Crimson Desert, the studio is working on the colorful creature-collecting anime MMORPG DokeV, as well as the sci-fi shooter Plan 8.

The Crimson Desert launch date is set for Winter 2021 on PC and console. There is no word on the business model, but we're inclined to believe that it is going to release as a buy-to-play game, like Black Desert before. You can watch the new trailer below, and the official website has more screenshots and details.
