Dauntless Switch launch is live with cross-platform support and trailer

Dauntless Switch launch

The Dauntless Switch launch is now live, Phoenix Labs has revealed. While the developer kept the Dauntless Switch release date a mystery for long, this version was expected to launch before the end of 2019, and here it is.

The Dauntless Switch launch sticks with the goal of having a “One Dauntless” cross-platform experience, with Switch players able to fight alongside their fellow slayers on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Cross-progression is also available, so you can keep your progress no matter the platform that you choose to play on.

These aren't the only Dauntless news today, as the behemoth hunter game is reaching Japan. The debut is happening on all platforms and brings full localization with subtitles and character support.

As part of the Switch release celebration, Stormchasers is releasing today as well, being the biggest free content update yet for Dauntless. This update comes with a new type of hunt called Escalation, featuring dual behemoth encounters and mechanics that are akin to the roguelike genre. The climax of Escalation is the clash against the shock-infused behemoth Malkarion. Stormchasers also brings a new Hunt Pass titled Myth and Legend, giving slayers a chance to learn more about the history of Ramsgate.

Escalation pits you against waves of behemoths coming with unique modifiers, testing your skills in some of the most demanding battles yet. Besides, these encounters are procedurally-generated, so you won't feel like you're playing the same battles over and over.

You'll get to face Malkarion when you get a high Escalation level after the fourth encounter. Malkarion is the first behemoth in Dauntless that a slayer is able to mount, but it brings a novel set of mechanics that only the best players will be able to overcome.

Watch the Dauntless Switch launch below, and the next step for Phoenix Labs is likely going to be to take Dauntless to mobile devices.
