Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 PS4 gets free-to-play version this month

Dead or Alive Xtreme: Venus Vacation review

‘Beautiful girls in revealing swimsuits have some risky fun in a tropical island', or Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 as it is officially named, is going to get a basic free-to-play version this month, according to Famitsu. We're talking about the Japanese PS4 version, which players will be able to download from the Japanese PlayStation Store starting May 16, 2016.

There are, of course, some limitations to this – you can only use Kasumi and while you can participate in most game modes (including beach volleyball and, apparently, butt battle), you'll have to stay out of the casino, unless you buy some kind of pass. This and getting the remaining eight girls is where microtransactions will surely step into play.

While Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 never released in North America and Europe, the Asian versionsinclude an English language option and is region-free, something that we don't know if will carry on to this free-to-play version.
