Fortnite is taking on Thanos with Avengers crossover

After watching Avengers: Infinity War, wouldn't it be amazing to punch Thanos' face to the ground in a game? And what if the biggest superhero movie of recent years had some kind of crossover with Fortnite, the biggest game of the galaxy? Well, it is happening with a limited time mashup, when Thanos enters Fortnite Battle Royale tomorrow, Tuesday, May 8.

This actually sounds logical, as Thanos is a villain with the ability to alter reality, so why wouldn't he want to join the most popular game? This epic crossover will begin as usual, with one hundred players fighting to be the last one standing, but this time there's the Infinity Gauntlet somewhere in the map. The ‘Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup' mode will allow the player who equips the Gauntlet to become Thanos himself, with all his power. Naturally, that is quite an advantage and completely changes the game.

This crossover began as an idea from Infinity War directors Joe and Anthony Russo, apparently also avid Fortnite Battle Royale players, just as Drake. While editing the movie, they thought about the potential of an Avengers-Fortnite mashup, and so they contacted Epic Games' creative director Donald Mustard, who was obviously pleased with the idea.

The Infinity Gauntlet mode will be available for free starting tomorrow on all Fortnite Battle Royale platforms: PC, PS4, Xbox One and iOS.
