Fortnite announces Battle Royale mode for late September

Fortnite Battle Royale

Epic Games has just announced a new game mode for Fortnite, and things are going to get messy. Battle Royale is the upcoming mode and the developers say that they are huge fans of Playerunknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG for short) and H1Z1. PUBG is one of the hottest multiplayer games of recent years and it's natural that many games are trying to follow its footsteps, with Epic Games saying that Fortnite's mechanics and destructible environment is perfect for such a game mode.

You can expect the first PvP mode for Fortnite later this month, on September 26, 2017, but it is already accessible in the public test servers. A giant map is the battleground for the Battle Royale mode, where 100 players will battle to see who is the last one standing. You can expect crashes and bugs during the public test, but this will help Epic Games to polish the mode for the official release – it will be under continued development through Early Access and into launch, so don't be surprised to see some changes along the way.

Obviously, the Fortnite community is a bit divided with this Battle Royale announcement; some players are in heaven while others didn't want a PvP mode in Fortnite (what?). Our advice for those who don't like it: don't play this mode. Easy, right?
