Free space combat game Star Wars: Attack Squadrons announced

With Disney now owning the Star Wars videogame license, their first game was just announced – the free-to-play space combat game Star Wars: Attack Squadrons, in development at new studio Area 52 Games. As it should be expected and the teaser trailer reinforces, Star Wars: Attack Squadrons will focus on PvP with three competitive modes revealed so far: Free For All, Team Dogfight and Base Defense. Players will earn points which can then be used to customize the spaceship and purchase new items.

Players will get to control the iconic X-Wings and Tie-Fighters and Disney promises to keep things exciting by adding new content monthly, such as ships, upgrades and various items.

Beta sign-ups are already open at the official website.
