Genshin Impact Midsummer Island Adventure 1.6 update revealed

MiHoYo has spilled the beans on the upcoming Genshin Impact Midsummer Island Adventure 1.6 update. The release date is June 9, 2021 for PC, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, and it brings a summer season theme that fans will surely appreciate. One of the is the addition of the leaked summer skins for Jean and Barbara, surely the first of many that will be coming with the following updates.

Here is how you can obtain both costumes, straight from miHoYo: “During the Version 1.6 event, collect a designated number of Echoing Conches to obtain Barbara's outfit “Summertime Sparkle.” After the end of Version 1.6, “Summertime Sparkle” will be available in the Shop for 1680 Genesis Crystals. After the Version 1.6 update, Jean's outfit “Sea Breeze Dandelion” will also be permanently available in the shop. During the discount period, the price of the outfit is 1,350 Genesis Crystals. The price will revert to 1,680 Genesis Crystals after the limited-time discount ends.”

This update will bring the first playable character from Inazuma, Kaedehara Kazuha. He is an Anemo user and fights with a sword, and in case you are wondering, he is a 5-star character that is able to provide buffs to the team. His Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst can not only deal Anemo damage and effectively control enemies, but also deal additional elemental damage if they come into contact with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro. At the same time, by triggering a Swirl reaction, Kazuha can further buff his teammates with an Elemental Damage Bonus for their corresponding Element.

Klee takes a major role in the new update, as she and the Traveler sail on a boat called Waverider, a first for Genshin Impact. They will explore an archipelago and face various challenges, some of them requiring blasting hilichurls. But there's a new boss as well, Maguu Kenki. This new opponent can summon phantoms, dealing both Anemo and Cryo damage, and can only be taken down while in close-range combat. By completing these challenges, players can obtain event currencies to redeem valuable resources and the brand-new four-star catalyst “Dodoco Tales” to full refinement from the Event Shop.

There are many other improvements and optimizations, including the ability to invite your characters to reside in your realm. They will amass Character Companionship Experience over time, and this rate of increase will be affected by the Adeptal Energy Rank.
