Lineage 2 Remastered is in the works with Unreal Engine 4

Lineage 2 Remastered

NCsoft seems to be on a roll with the Unreal Engine 4 updates. With the pending release of Blade and Soul Complete, the Unreal Engine 4 upgrade that was initially known as Vision update, the Korean developer is now targeting another one of its popular MMORPGs, Lineage 2. The Lineage 2 Remastered is currently under development, but the studio is hiring some extra hands.

According to MMOCulture, NCsoft is looking for additional staff to work Lineage 2 Remastered, or L2: Remastered. Most specifically, they need a Technical Artist proficient in Unreal Engine 4, Maya, and 3DS Max.

Lineage 2 is one of the most profitable MMORPGs in the world, frequently showing in the top results for NCsoft's financial reports. Originally released in 2003, this remaster needs to be an in-depth one, as the game has aged quite a bit. The Unreal Engine 4 could open it up to a new segment of players and possibly give it a player base boost.

In the meantime, NCsoft is also busy with Project TL, the remake of the troubled Lineage Eternal. Also running on Unreal Engine 4, this MMORPG is  going for a more traditional approach, scrapping the multi-character system that the team was originally going for.
