Medic! Warface is down on Xbox 360

Warface, Crytek's first foray into the free-to-play market, is going to shut down on Xbox 360 next February. This shooter launched on Microsoft's console back in April but didn't even lasted one year. No more players are being accepted and you can't buy any more in-game currency (Warface Kredits), since the game will shut down on February 1st.

Crytek hopes that Xbox 360 players will join the PC version of Warface, which apparently is a big success in Russia but we're still not quite sure how well it is doing in the rest of Europe and North America. Crytek had big hopes for this game and for its future as a developer of free-to-play games, but this is definitely a misstep that could hurt this plan. Crytek is currently working on two more free-to-play games: the MOBA Arena of Fate and the co-op shooter Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age.
