Story time: How MU started, where it is headed with MU Legend

MU Legend story

With the MU Legend global open beta approaching fast (it's live on November 7, 2017, in case you forgot), Webzen keeps the hype alive with an overview of the MU franchise.

“The first game of the franchise – MU Online – had its release in 2001. It's been nearly 16 years since the month that marked the beginning of a very long journey, one that still influences millions of players around the globe. A very innovative product for the time, the game featured immersive 3D graphics, great character building and beautiful maps to discover. These factors, combined with a dedicated community, have made the game a huge success with more than 56 million registered accounts since its release. To this day, we keep its servers up and running and are constantly developing new updates.”

The MU series also made the jump to mobile platforms with MU Origin, featuring the iconic online classes such as the Dark Knight, Dark Wizard, Elf and Magic Gladiator. Along the way came MU Rebirth, a PvP-focused MMO, which isn't included in this overview. Probably because it was shut down in 2015.

And now it's time to focus on MU Legend, a game that went through development hell and two closed betas, but has finally found its path. A recent stress test was held on September 23 and MU Legend is already available for pre-download at the official website.

MU Legend will begin its open beta with four classes, Dark Lord, Whisperer, Blader and War Mage, but more are to come. The Emphasizer is already available in South Korea, and the sixth class is this female mage.

We'll get to talk about MU Legend on November 7, that's for sure.
