The western release of Phantasy Star Online 2 wasn't the only exciting news surrounding Sega's acclaimed anime MMORPG. Japanese fans have more reasons to be excited, thanks to the upcoming release of the anime series.

Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle is the name of the anime show developed by the renowned Gonzo studios. It will start airing in October in Japan only for now, and is comprised of 25 episodes. According to the info from the trailer below, the anime series follows the story of the game, from episode 1 to episode 3.




Phantasy Star Online 2 is coming to North America in 2020 and eventually to Europe some time later. It is aimed at PC and Xbox One for now, thanks to a deal between Sega and Microsoft which surely involved a timed exclusivity of some kind. Phil Spencer himself said that Phantasy Star Online 2 will be releasing in other platforms in the west, including PS4 and Nintendo Switch, so it's only a matter of waiting a while longer.

For a game that was released in 2012, it's not like another year or two is going to kill us…
