Prime Arena is a MOBA inspired by the hit Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds

Prime Arena

What? MOBA and PUBG? Let's read the press blurb once again: “Prime Arena is a combination of MOBA and survival gameplay inspired by PUBG.” Alright then.

Prime Arena comes from Nival, developers of Prime World, an older MOBA that once had potential but ultimately turned to a steaming pile of… you know what. Now, the Russian studio is back with another try, and they claim that Prime Arena will be free of all the toxicity that MOBAs are known for.

How did they do that? By making a game meant for solo carries, with no teamplay or teammates – it's a classic survival arena where it's you against the world, and the last one standing wins. Currently there are about 20 heroes for you to choose from, with more to come, the map size decreases at the same time players are eliminated, and you can make or break alliances in a hurry.

So, it's an isometric multiplayer action game, but calling it nice hot words such as Battle Royale, PUBG or MOBA increases its chances of getting noticed. Nival used to be a talented studio, so maybe they want to make up to players for the failed Prime World.

Prime Arena is going to be free-to-play, it already has a Steam page where you can watch a gameplay video, and the launch is planned for fall 2017.
