The next Revelation Online update is going to ramp up the competitive factor. Called Imperial War, this update will task you to show just how awesome you are when it comes to fight for your server.
The Imperial War update is coming soon, probably in a few weeks, and will include the titular Imperial Wars, where you'll have to participate in weeklong match-ups between competing servers. You'll also be able hire mercenaries to help you in battle, but these may shift their alliances and fight for whoever pays them.
A new soul skill system will allow you to enhance your runes and badges, and you'll be able to make the most out of your character with things such as improving healing and damaging effects or reducing damage taken.
