The Battleground of the Gods is going to open on Xbox One on July 8, Hi-Rez Studios has announced. SMITE is one of the most popular MOBA games on PC (play it for free if you haven't already, millions are already enjoying it) and the studio is doing its best to make sure the game translates perfectly to the Microsoft console. All progress that was made during closed beta is going to carry over into the next phase, and there's even the option for a one-time Account Merge for veterans of SMITE on PC who wish to bring their progress to Xbox One. The SMITE Xbox One full launch is planned for later this year, but since there won't be more wipes, this is a great time to begin playing this game. You'll need an Xbox Live Gold account to access the game, as is usual with the Xbox console.
