Valve’s Dota Underlords is now in free Early Access and getting rave reviews

Valve Dota Underlords auto chess

Legend says that Valve developed Dota Underlords in a weekend, using two monkeys and a typewriter. I'm joking, of course, but it goes without saying that this free-to-play version of the auto-chess can you can play in Dota 2 is no Half-Life 3, in what development time is concerned.

Valve's Dota Underlords is now available in Steam Early Access and is getting very positive reviews. This is further proof that sometimes the simplest premises are the best and that no one ever asked for a premium collectible card game called Artifact.

You can play Dota Underlords on PC and mobile with cross-platform play, and the plan is to release this game in a few months.

With this and League of Legends' Teamfight Tactics, we could be witnessing the birth of a new genre that is going to be cloned to death. Hell, if it rids us of Battle Royale games, maybe it's for the best, right?
