Warhammer 40,000: Dark Nexus Arena MOBA is shutting down

The MOBA overload is still taking its toll and after several games such as DawngateInfinite Crisis or Dead Island: Epidemic shutting down, now it's time for Warhammer 40,000: Dark Nexus Arena to close. White Box has announced that the servers will be up until March 31, 2016, when the game closes for good.

As the studio mentions, “There has been excitement for the game but we haven't grown enough to maintain development”, which clearly translates into not having a playerbase large enough to bring revenue capable of sustaining the game. Dark Nexus Arena was in beta for a year and despite being free-to-play, it never managed to go beyond a small amount of mixed reviews on Steam.

Here is our Dark Nexus Arena first look from 2015, where we mentioned that the game needed quite some work if it wanted to compete with the heavyweights of the genre.
