World of Dragon Nest is alive with Nexon Thailand publishing in Southeast Asia

World of Dragon Nest Nexon

If you've been waiting for a Dragon Nest sequel like I've been, welcome to hell. The announcement of a cross-platform World of Dragon Nest in 2017 was met with suspicion, and the silence that followed confirmed that it wasn't going to be a smooth ride.

The last we've heard of World of Dragon Nest was when I discovered a job offer for a 3D character model suggesting that development was ongoing, despite the lack of news.

But finally there is some light at the end of the tunnel. The South Korean media is reporting that Nexon Thailand signed a publishing deal with Actozsoft, parent company of developer Eyedentity Games (thanks MMOCulture). The deal is valid for Southeast Asia, with the countries of service being Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The release date is scheduled for the second half of 2019, but it's strange that there is no new trailer or screenshot in sight.

It's also impossible to confirm if World of Dragon Nest is the same PC and mobile cross-platform MMORPG as it was previously announced, as no new details were released besides the publishing deal.

Will this game do justice to the original Dragon Nest? I reserve my judgment until I learn more about it.
