World of Tanks launches on Xbox One in July

Wargaming free to play multiplatform MMO

Wargaming has announced that the free-to-play armored warfare game World of Tanks is coming to Xbox One on July 28, with upgraded visuals and cross-platform gameplay between the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions. You can expect hundreds of tanks in more detail than before, as well as new features such as shared progress and content between the two platforms through a single Xbox Live account, all-new “Proving Grounds” Player versus Environment (PvE) mode, full social and streaming support offered by the Xbox One platform, and more. You can start preloading the game on your console starting July 10.

To play World of Tanks on Xbox One and Xbox 360, you need a Xbox Live Gold membership, but there's a free free seven-day trial for all other Xbox Live account holders.

The PC version is still a big hit, and you can play it for free here.
