Yakuza Online is coming in 2018 in Japan on PC, iOS and Android

And I thought my hair was a mess. Looking at Ichiban Kasuga's hair, the leading man of the upcoming Yakuza Online game, I don't feel so bad about it anymore.

Anyway, Yakuza Online, or Ryu Ga Gotoku Online for the original moniker, is a game based on the popular Sega series. Ichiban Kasuga, the protagonist of this game is confirmed to be the main star of Yakuza 7 (Shin Yakuza) as well, so this is the perfect opportunity for you to get to know him. As for this upcoming free game, it has a 2018 released planned in Japan for PC, iOS and Android. Pre-registrations are already open on the official website, and these will give you various bonuses according to the number of players who pre-register.

But what is, in fact, Yakuza Online? While we have a short teaser showing Ichiban Kasuga's decidedly awesome tattoo and weird grin, there is no sight of gameplay footage yet. The official description is also pretty vague, speaking of the desperate struggle of a passionate man in the underworld, in Tokyo's Kamurocho, with the appearance of popular characters from the previous Yakuza games. Brawls, money and girls are part of the game, with the suggestion of “controlling it all and dominating Kamurocho.”

We may be wrong, but this probably will involve a lot of gacha, recruiting team members and purchasing a lot of trinkets to offer the girls. It's highly doubtful that Yakuza Online will resemble the main series at all, being closer to your traditional mobile game, but let's wait and see.
