Apex Legends Mobile Release Date | When is the Android and iOS launch?

Apex Legends Mobile Release Date

The surprise launch of Apex Legends in February 2019 positioned EA's battle royale as one of the most valid alternatives to the all-conquering Fortnite. The enormous success at launch was somewhat unexpected, but Respawn clearly had a winner on its hands with a game that was polished and addictive. While the player base naturally decreased over the next few months, it remains as one of the most relevant games of its genre, and the obvious next step in such cases is to take the game to Android and iOS devices. But what is the Apex Legends Mobile release date?

The talks about Apex Legends Mobile officially started in May 2019, when EA revealed that it wanted to bring the game to China and expand the franchise into mobile devices. It's a wise move, as there's a large player base waiting to play the game on smartphones and tablets. However, the expected launch date was many months away.

EA's Chief Executive Andrew Wilson said that the game isn't going to launch until the fiscal year of 2021. This places the Apex Legends Mobile release date somewhere in the time frame of October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021.

By June 2020, EA's CEO Andrew Wilson revealed more concrete details on the launch date. In a video, he said that Apex Legends Mobile is going to soft launch by the end of the year, and the global final release is planned for the first quarter of 2021. Here's the rundown:

  • Apex Legends Mobile soft launch / beta test: late 2020
  • Apex Legends Mobile release date: Q1 2021

As long as Respawn keeps releasing new content and players enjoy the evolution of the game, things should keep moving forward. Despite a few mishaps regarding high cash shop prices, the game maintains a respectable community that appreciates the work done on Caustic, Mirage, Wraith, Lifeline, and other Legends.

One thing we know for sure – Apex Legends Mobile was inevitable and is only going to strengthen the core game, especially if the expected cross-play is also a part of the mobile release.
