Lost Ark Western Release Date | When is the Lost Ark NA and EU Launch?

Lost Ark Western Release Date

After a couple of years of unremitting suspense and a few rumors that didn't turn out to be true, we finally have a timeframe for the Lost Ark western release date. Congratulations are in order to Amazon Games, the more than likely western publisher of Smilegate's highly anticipated MMORPG. Despite having its hands full with the 2021 release of the promising MMORPG New World, the studio managed to snag the publishing rights, putting an end to speculation that pointed to My.com being the Lost Ark publisher in North America and Europe. So, what is the Lost Ark western release date?

According to the press release announcing the deal between Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG for the launch of “one of our AAA games to Western players” (said Smilegate CEO Chi Won Gil), the Lost Ark English release date is set for early 2022. That much can be gathered by this statement, where the 2021 release was delayed for early 2022.

Since Lost Ark is the only MMORPG developed and published by Smilegate RPG so far, there's little doubt that this is the title that Amazon Games is bringing to North American and European markets.

On June 10, 2021, Amazon Games finally confirmed that the Lost Ark western release date is fall 2021. The end of the official announcement trailer showed the launch date beyond any doubts, ending the speculation.

Before the launch there's a closed technical alpha and at least one closed beta. You can sign up for the former right now, on the official English Lost Ark website.

It's great to finally get some closure to the endless Lost Ark soap opera. While it took more time than expected to welcome the news of an official English release date, the whole thing didn't go to the extent of Phantasy Star Online 2, which took nearly a decade to see a western release. There's still a lot of sitting and waiting to do, but hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.
