Blizzard just revealed HearthStone: Heroes Of Warcraft during PAX East. This is the studio’s first free-to-play game and one that is obviously based on the popular World Of Warcraft franchise.
HearthStone is a turn-based online card game that is being developed by a small and new team of 15 at Blizzard. The game will offer over 300 card types and five cards per pack. Packs will be available for purchase at around $1 dollar each. Two competitive modes have been revealed so far: Play Mode offers traditional head-to-head battles while The Forge has players starting by building a new deck and using it to battle other players.
The beta should launch this summer and signups are already open at http://PlayHearthstone.com. Hearthstone is in development for Windows and Mac, as well as iPad, with this one appearing a bit later.
