Paradox Interactive just announced that the free-to-play sandbox MMORPG Salem has entered open beta. This game is also known for its permadeath feature, although that’s certainly the only thing it shares with Wizardry Online.
Salem has a particular focus on crafting and is set during the time of the first Pilgrims. You play as an explorer in the new world, building your settlement, learning a diverse range of skills and getting into a fight or two. Salem isn’t the most friendly game but don’t let the rough edges fool you – there’s a rich game underneath the cute graphics. Oh, and you begin the game completely naked!
