LEGO Minifigures Online open beta announced for June

Funcom just announced the open beta date for the upcoming cross-platform free-to-play LEGO MMORPG, LEGO Minifigures Online. Beta testing will begin in June for PC, while the final version is expected to release next fall. Funcom Executive Producer, Lawrence Poe, had this to say about the open beta announcement:

“Open Beta is a significant milestone for any game, and I can say on behalf of the team that we are incredibly excited that players, young and old will soon have the opportunity to experience LEGO Minifigures Online for themselves. This is an invaluable opportunity to collect feedback directly from players. We’ll be using that feedback over the summer to help us focus our efforts where they are most needed and deliver the best possible experience when we launch in the fall.”

Some players are already enjoying the closed beta of LEGO Minifigures Online, which will launch on PC, iOS and Android devices. Funcom is the studio behind Age of Conan Unchained and The Secret World, two games definitely very different from the colorful and family-friendly environments of LEGO Minifigures Online.
