Apparently, someone at Nexon is very confused about naming the free-to-play online FPS from Splash Damage. Originally titled Dirty Bomb, it was later renamed to Extraction when Nexon acquired the publishing rights. Extraction did sound to us like a way less appealing and more generic name, to be honest.
Now, Nexon decided to revert to the Dirty Bomb title again because it ““better reflects its personality,” and “ensures there’s a single, consistent name across the globe.” Hopefully this will be the last name change but who knows.
