MMO Shooter Defiance turns free-to-play in June!

While Defiance failed to set the world on fire, this tie-in to the SyFy show of the same name had some very fun moments nonetheless. Today, Trion Worlds has announced that the post-apocalyptic third-person MMO shooter is becoming free-to-play on June 4, 2014 on PC and mid-July on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Players will be able to download the Defiance client and experience the entire Bay Area storyline, original end-game content, and future missions completely for free.

All existing Defiance players will get more character slots, loadouts, ark keycode capacity, and inventory slots than free-to-play accounts. Veterans will also enjoy 30 days of Paradise Patron status when Defiance turns free-to-play. Season 2 should also bring some free crossover content. Read all the details here.

Trion Worlds is the publisher of other MMOs including Rift and the upcoming ArcheAge and Trove. Definitely a very decent catalog, to say the least.
