Digital Extremes weren't kidding when they promised a 2017 release; the highly anticipated Plains of Eidolon update is coming to Warframe next week. Don't ask us about a specific day, as there is none yet, but we'll let you know when we have one. Plains of Eidolon is landing on PC next week, with the XBox One and PlayStation 4 releases happening in November.
In case you haven't been following this update, the thing you should know is that it adds an open world (or Landscape, as it is called in-game) to Warframe, where you're free to explore, fight and fly with your Archwing as you see fit. There's a day and night cycle which actually affects gameplay, with towering Eidolons appearing, capable of even scaring the terrible Grineer. To take down these creatures you'll have to fight as a real team.
The town of Cetus is the place where the Ostrons inhabit. You'll get mission requests from them, learn about their rich culture and gain access to their wares. You'll also be able to craft your own weapons.
But there's more! The Plains of Eidolon update comes with a new Warframe called Gara. She is the “glass Warframe” that players have been talking about for a while, and her abilities involve manipulating glass. You can watch her abilities in the video below.
There is more to learn about the Plains of Eidolon update, so make sure you read about all the juicy details. Here's hoping that it turns out to be as good as it is shaping up to be, as this could be the future of Warframe.
