Renegade X: fan-made C&C game enters open beta

About a year ago, Totem Arts released for free Renegade X: Black Dawn, a short but impressive single-player shooter based on the popular Command & Conquer franchise, more specifically the mediocre but full of potential shooter Command & Conquer: Renegade. The studio promised to launch a multiplayer version and after many years of hard work, Renegade X just entered open beta. This game isn't free-to-play with microtransactions, it's just straight-up free, you can keep your wallets and enjoy the multiplayer action. Renegade X uses the Unreal 3 engine and it's a very good looking game, definitely impressive work for a fan-made game.

Renegade X pits two teams into battle: GDI and Brotherhood of NOD. Players have to “manage their economies, choose from over 30 weapons, 15 vehicles, and call in nuclear strikes, Ion Cannons, and airstrikes, and much more. Renegade X is for all players – lone wolves, team-based gamers, tankers, snipers, rushers, turtlers, and all others!”
