Perfect World just announced that they plan to relaunch the MMO game Star Trek Online as a free-to-play game this year. No specific date was given, but the wait won’t be long.
After acquiring Cryptic Studios, Perfect World got Champions Online: Free For All and Star Trek Online. The news of a free-to-play model for the latter comes as no surprise for most gamers, since Perfect World is mostly invested on this economic model. We will wait for more details about this jump from retail to F2P.
